not sure what that is, but if i remember correctly, thats a necro boss *darker green at least* not a ranger boss. I do remember reading that a "Gate Guard" or something spawns at the beginning of that mission which cannot be killed, I think thats the reinforcements for the shiro'ken that Kuunavang talks about. Maybe this guy glitches to the end when you beat it.

he spawns for the cutscene. same thing happens in Gandara.. if you beat the last group, and run further down the hall, a bunch of sunspears labeled "demon" will spawn. I have a screen shot of this, but i'm a forum noob, and don't know how to imbed graphics.

It spawns for the cutscene. Its just another Shiro'ken Boss found in Raisu Palace however it cant be killed by players. Togo/Mhenlo (cant remember which one but i'm leaning towards Togo) kill it before rushing forward.
As to its name it could just be a cutscene bug which tends to happen (Things spawning but having the wrong name such as the Sunspears in Gandara and sometimes some of the Dwarves in the "The Great Dwarf" cutscene)

I too have noticed that in the Gandara cutscene, you can see a bunch of sunspears named "Demon".
By the way has anyone noticed the Raisu Palace ending is odd? Togo runs over, the camera pans in on a tree which says "Brother! No!" (Emperor Kisu), then suddenly Togo is sitting on the ground.
I don't know if they did the tree pan as one of those dramatic "hide the violence" things, but it seems really cheesy.

There have been odd happenings, especially in Thirsty River, in which Forgotten would spawn with the name of a nearby tameable animal (like "Dune Lizard").
Perhaps this is the case? I'm sure there were some NPC guards in that mission somewhere, maybe near the start...

I have seen enemies with the names of tameable pets a few times, mostly the mantids in the kurzick area with the name "White Tiger." I think the best bet for the Gate Guard at the end of the mission is what was said earlier, simply a spawn made for the cutscene.

Perhaps the same with the Gandara Sunspears, and the real "Demon"s are those ones spawned in the ending cinematic?
Though in Thirsty River, the NPC misnaming was always random and did not always happen. Oh speaking of which, it was so funny seeing a Snow Wolf Spectral Agony one of my party members dead in THK.
Perhaps it occurs depending on what NPCs are near other NPCs, so in THK/Thirsty River it's random as pet spawns are random, whilst the demons in Gandara and the Gate Guard are in pre-set locations so the bug always occurs?

It's a bug, that cropped up before Nightfall was released and hasn't been fixed. Some people who got to the end of Factions quickly enough actually managed to see the cutscene as it's supposed to be, with the camera actually being focussed on where the action is.
